This month will be in sign of many returns and is indeed very generous in it’s upcoming albums collection. Most expecting authors of this month must be Michael Jackson, The Black Keys, Coldplay, Anastacia and Blondie. But we can look forward so much more.
WEEK ONE – Lilly Allen, The Horros, Imelda May (released), Anastacia , Natalie Merchant , Santana, Lykke Li, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ray LaMontagne, Brian Eno & Karl Hyde, Cradle Of Filth, Ben Harper
IMELDA MAY – TRIBAL is certainly one the top released in first week of May (last week of April in some regions). Imelda does not go far from her rockabilly style she her own gained. Song has just the vibe you’ve been expecting. But as an artist everybody grows and so does miss May. Tribal may not have so many easily remembered melodies but strikes you with self-confidence and in it’s own way is very grown up album. Top in it’s category too.
KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD – GOIN’ HOME will be collection of influences for this blues-rock guitarist and singer such as BB King, Albert King, Lee Dorsey and others. Legends from old era will be joined by present. Shepherd performed and therefore befriended many of the tops musicians who helped on upcoming album. You can look forward Ringo Starr, Keb’ Mo’, Robert Randolph and many others.
Release date : 5.5.2014
British indie rock band who likes to play with you through psychedelic rhythms and dreamy shoegaze are back with fourth studio album. THE HORROS – LUMINOUS.
Release date : 5.5.2014
Fixed star we could call her. And certainly very strong woman. ANASTACIA – RESURRECTION is singer’s sixth studio album and after long years contains original writings (last records were mostly covers). Whole material was written during singers second battle with cancer and may just show not just strong will but fact that there are still artists who take inspiration to art from their own pains, sorrow, soul and heart. But, should we also mention. Anastacia always had very strong and unmistakable voice that she easily takes through genres such as pop, soul and r’n’b.
Release date: 5.5.2014
WEEK TWO : Foxes, Blondie, Michael Jackson, Swans, The Black Keys, Coldplay, Casualties of Cool, Tori Amos, Owen Pallett
MICHAEL JACKSON – XSCAPE is probably one of the most participated album’s of this month. Deluxe edition of Xscape is going to be shown both remixes (finished songs by producers) and originals in way Michael unfortunately did not managed to finish. Album contains 8 tracks.
Release date: 9.5.14
CASUALTIES OF COOL is first album by new project of Devin Townsend and Ché Aimee Dorval. Album will be themed in country rock mood. Release date: 14.5.14
One of my personal favorites of this month is new album by alternative band BLONDIE – GHOSTS OF DOWNLOAD that contains both new material and if you come across deluxe edition also old and best material from their long career. Release date: 13.5.14
WEEK THREE & FOUR: Phillip Phillips, Plaid, Cher Lloyd, Bury Tomorrow, The Ready Set, Sam Smith
PHILLIP PHILLIPS – BEHIND THE LIGHT is second studio album by this American artist combining indie with folk. Release date: 19.5.14
